K-Pop Music


 

Since the mid-2000s, Korean pop music went through a huge development in the world and it is more recognized by people than before. Therefore they have their own genre and it is called K-pop music. Even the American musicians are collaborating with various K-Pop idols include many notable recording artists from the African American hip hop community, such as Akon, Kanye West, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and will.i.am.

There are plenty of subgenres in K-Pop music. Such like Bubblegum Pop, Dance-pop, Operatic pop, Power pop, Soundtrack, Synth pop, Space age pop, Sunshine pop, Traditional pop and Teen pop. This is one of the most important reasons made k-pop music successful worldwide. And some of the other reasons are Diversity of audiovisual content, Systematic training of singers, Bands with numerous members and sub-units, Rapid distribution via the Internet, Support of government agencies and dedicated fan base.

An example of the famous K-pop bands or musical groups is Big Bang which is a South Korean male Pop music group. that’s consisted from 5 young male artists who are under 25 years old.  The members' are involved t in composing and producing their own music, especially the notable leader G-Dragon, has earned the group respect and praise from music industry experts.  And in November 2011, representing the Asia-Pacific region, Big Bang emerged as the inaugural "Best Worldwide Act" winner at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards.
